Kayda Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 11, 2026  •  Effective Date: October 11, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kayda mobile application (the “App”) and the services behind it, provided by TechGlobe Consultancy Services LLP (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Please read them carefully.

Kayda is not legal advice and is not an official publication. It helps you find and read the law. Always check the official text, and consult an advocate about your situation.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Kayda Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

2. Description of Service

Kayda is a reference app for Indian criminal law. It lets you:

  • Read the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 that replaced them
  • Convert and compare sections between the old and new laws
  • Search sections and look up how offences are classified (for example, cognizable or bailable)
  • Download acts for offline reading
  • Save favourites, notes, highlights and folders, and sync them across your devices
  • Study with flashcards, quizzes and daily reminders
  • Listen to sections read aloud, share sections, and export them as PDF
  • Use the App in English, Hindi or Marathi

Reading, searching, comparing and offline downloads work without an account. Saving a library and syncing study progress need you to sign in.

3. Not Legal Advice; Accuracy of Content

  • Information only: The App provides legal information for reference and study. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create a lawyer-client relationship with us or anyone else. Do not rely on it as a substitute for advice from a qualified advocate.
  • Not an official publication: The law text is compiled from government sources, such as India Code (Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice) and the Gazette of India. Kayda is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Government of India or any court. Where the App and the official text differ, the official text prevails.
  • Possible errors and delays: Despite our care, the App may contain errors, omissions or text that does not yet reflect the latest amendments, notifications, state amendments or court rulings. Downloaded acts stay as they were when downloaded until the App updates them.
  • Mappings and summaries: Old-to-new section mappings, change summaries, offence classifications, study cards and quizzes are aids to understanding. A section’s correspondence is not always one-to-one, and these aids do not replace reading the full text of both provisions.
  • Translations: Hindi and Marathi translations of the App’s interface are provided for convenience. Where a translation and the English text of these Terms or of the App differ, the English text prevails.

Verify anything you intend to rely on, especially before filing, charging, arguing or advising on a matter, against the official text as in force on the relevant date.

4. Your Account

  • You sign in with your Google account. You must use your own account and keep your device and Google account secure.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at admin@techglobe.in if you believe your account has been misused.
  • The details you give us (such as your profession) should be accurate.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the App under Settings > Delete account. This removes your account and everything saved in it, and cannot be undone.

5. Your Content

  • Ownership: Your notes, highlights, folders and other content you create (“Your Content”) remain yours.
  • Permission to operate the service: You allow us to store, copy, sync and process Your Content only as needed to provide the App to you, for example to sync it between your devices and build PDF exports you request. We do not publish it or use it for advertising.
  • Confidential information: Do not put confidential client information, case details or other people’s sensitive personal data in your notes. You are responsible for having the right to store anything you enter.
  • Back-ups: We take reasonable care of Your Content, but you should keep your own copy of anything important, for example by exporting it as PDF.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defame or harm anyone
  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-download content from the App or its servers, or use automated tools to access it
  • Call our servers other than through the App, extract or misuse the App’s API keys, or try to get around rate limits or security measures
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, modify or create derivative works of the App, except where the law expressly allows it
  • Copy, resell or republish the App’s compilation, mappings, summaries or study content as part of another product or service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers or other users’ use of it, or upload malicious code
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone

7. Intellectual Property

  • The law itself: The text of Acts and other official government publications is public. We claim no ownership of it, and you may reproduce it as the law allows.
  • Our work: The App’s software, design, interface, arrangement and compilation of content, section mappings, summaries, study cards, quizzes, icons, the name “Kayda” and our logos belong to TechGlobe Consultancy Services LLP or its licensors and are protected by law.
  • Your licence: We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own reference and study, in line with these Terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content.

9. Availability & Changes to the App

  • The App is currently free of charge. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price and terms before you pay anything.
  • We may add, change or remove features, and update the law text and other content, at any time.
  • We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It may be unavailable during maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. Downloaded acts remain readable offline.
  • We may release updates, and some may be required to keep using the App.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunity.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TechGlobe Consultancy Services LLP, its partners, employees and agents from any claims, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the App, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Termination

  • You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App.
  • We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the App or its servers, or if the law requires it.
  • When your account ends, your right to use the account features ends. Sections 3, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 14 continue to apply.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any formal proceedings, please write to us so we can try to resolve the matter. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect. Using the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

16. General

  • These Terms and the Kayda Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • If we do not enforce a right, that does not waive it.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor that takes over the App.
